The New Standard for Credibility in Carbon Accounting
In a field crowded with competing claims, demonstrating genuine, verifiable competence in carbon accounting has become the ultimate business differentiator. Doing it is one thing; doing it right, to a standard that withstands scrutiny, is everything.
This Associate Level Carbon Accounting course has been designed from the ground up to meet the rigorous competencies for the Associate grade of this new register, which is the definitive pathway for organisations and individuals committed to leading with credibility.
Your Pathway to Professional Recognition
This intensive, five-day programme is structured to build comprehensive, practical skills across the three core pillars of GHG accounting. It is designed to take anyone, with little-to-no prior knowledge, to a level of competence in GHG accounting.
Upon successful completion, your team members will be able to:
Deliver a Corporate GHG Inventory (ISO 14064-1):
- Confidently quantify Scope 1, Scope 2, and all 15 categories of Scope 3 emissions using established frameworks like the GHG Protocol.
- Define organisational and operational boundaries, establish a robust base year, and apply the core principles of relevance, completeness, consistency, transparency, and accuracy.
- Produce a detailed data request plan and draft compliant disclosure text for regulations like SECR.
Conduct a Product Carbon Footprint / Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) (ISO 14067):
- Execute a full cradle-to-grave product carbon footprint, defining the goal, scope, system boundary, and functional unit.
- Gather and evaluate the quality of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data from primary and secondary sources, managing uncertainty and allocation.
- Interpret hotspots, model improvement scenarios, and prepare clear reports that avoid misleading claims.
Perform a Project-Level Carbon Inventory (ISO 14064-2):
- Quantify GHG emissions, removals, and reductions for specific projects, including defining the baseline scenario and proving additionality.
- Design effective monitoring plans, assess data quality, and account for factors like leakage and permanence.
- Prepare robust project inventory reports suitable for investment decisions and impact reporting.

The Exclusive Pathway to Professional Recognition
This training programme will be one of (if not THE) first to qualify successful participants onto the upcoming Carbon Accountants and Auditors Register at the Associate level.
Why does this matter?
The Register provides, for the first time, an efficient and effective means for individuals and their employers to demonstrate to clients, regulators, and investors that they are adequately qualified, trained, and experienced in carbon accounting.
Completing this course will be your fastest route to the specific training required to achieve this landmark professional recognition, setting a new standard for credibility in the industry.
