Surya Foods

Summary: Surya Foods, a renowned global food supplier, embarked on an ambitious sustainability journey with MyCarbon. They sought to market a carbon-neutral rice product, Laila Xtra: Extra Long Basmati, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability within the food industry.
Working closely with MyCarbon, Surya Foods underwent a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and PAS 2060, revealing that a significant portion of emissions was derived from methane produced during the farming process. This finding spurred a deeper investigation into the farming practices, seeking viable methods to reduce methane production.
The investigation led to a breakthrough; it was found that adopting more sustainable irrigation practices could reduce production emissions by approximately 25%. Moreover, it was recommended that customer incentives be investigated to reduce emissions associated with cooking the rice and waste at home, enhancing the product's overall sustainability profile.

We'll conduct a general review of your baseline, using a risk-based system to flag errors, calculations, assumptions, and recommendations that require amending.
2. Full Calculation & Data Source Review
We'll retest all reported figures using the original data sources, providing a register of identified errors and omissions, potential risks, recommendations, and updated emission totals.
3. Third-Party Full Verification
In addition to option two's services, we'll re-report your baseline using MyCarbon's template and officially certify it according to the global GHG protocol reporting standard.
